A compilation of miscellaneous illustrations I’ve done in the last year or so, almost entirely influenced by rural Japan and my fascination with the mundane parts of it. If ever I feel like I’m in a creative rut, I’ll usually set aside a couple of hours to dive into my backlog of photos taken on my many cycling trips through the mountains of Hokkaido and create a design or illustration out of it. It’s been a great way to remain connected to the place despite currently living 6,000 miles away, whilst also allowing me to flex my creative muscles by attempting some visual storytelling in relatively minimalist illustration.
